April

Well obviously I'm not very good about keeping this blog updated very regularly. I think the reason I rarely update it is because when I put the kids to bed after a long day the last thing I want to do is sit down and write about Presley's illness and think about her uncertain future (plus I'd be missing my shows) so I think I'm going to change the direction of this blog a bit. I plan on using it more as a journal to remember certain milestones, memories, etc. for our whole family and stop blogging solely about Presley and the fact that she's sick, it's just depressing for me. Obviously the fact that she has epilepsy is something that is a big part of our life right now so I will still be giving updates on how she's doing but it's not what defines her or our family. I'm hoping to keep up on this a bit more and have it printed out at the end of each year. Sadly I don't remember much about Peyton as a baby and I haven't updated Presley's baby book since her diagnosis. Being that Mark and I have decided we won't have any more children I want to try to remember as much as I can!!

quick overview of April:

The first weekend of April we went up to Tahoe and enjoyed the snow with my parents. Mark and I got another day of snowboarding in, Peyton got some sledding in and we managed to make it to Reno to have lunch with Casey.

                                                      Presley's ready for the snow!
Peyton LOVES any type of snow removal equipment! He spotted this truck and insisted we take a picture of him with it. =)

We had both Peyton and Presley baptized the second weekend of April. It was pretty last minute and we decided to keep it really casual but I'm really glad we did it.
Peyton was really excited to get baptized mostly because he got a candle but he was really good during the ceremony and stood right next to the water the whole time. I took him to church a few weeks prior and the pastor talked about being baptized meaning you were "born again". Peyton was obviously paying attention because anytime we talked about the baptism he would tell me he didn't want to be born again and he didn't want to be in my belly again. I ended up telling him he was only getting baptized he wouldn't be born again but it was so funny how freaked out he was by it.

Presley's turn. Mark held her the wrong way so she ended up splashing around in the water. =)

April 23rd Peyton turned four years old! I can't believe how big he's getting and how fast time is flying by. We had a small birthday party for him at the funky monkey with a few friends then we went home for a few hours before heading to Grandma Patty's house for another birthday party/ Easter celebration. The day after his birthday was Easter and we had another busy day planned. First we had Easter brunch at my parent's house, then Easter dinner at Mary's house. It was a fun but exhausting weekend and at the end of it even Peyton said "he was tired of cake". Never thought I'd hear those words come out of his mouth.
Happy Birthday to my four year old!

Even when we tell our family not to go overboard and that Peyt doesn't need any new toys this is what we end up with! =)
