I had total anxiety about Presley flying! I was so nervous she would be that uncontrollable screaming child you always hear about. She has got one heck of a temper, and sometimes I just have to let her have a fit in order to calm down.....well that's not really an option on a plane full of people. I also had to carry on rescue meds just in case she had an uncontrollable seizure while on the plane, just another reminder that this is our new reality. Presley proved me wrong and did great! The four of us sat in one row and she just climbed over us whenever she needed to move around and she didn't freak out at all. If she started to get whiny I just gave her food and she quieted right down, this girl LOVES to eat.
Peyton did great too, this was his third flight so he's a pro.
We finally got to our room around 4:00 and headed straight to the pool since the sun was still out.
On Thursday we headed to the Phoenix Zoo for the day. We took Peyton to this same zoo two years ago when we were here, but presley had never been to the zoo before.
I always give Mark a hard time about the lopsided boat =)
Stopping for an Icee break after a long day.
My dad's cousin Dave lives nearby in Apache Junction so he was able to meet up with us at the zoo and have dinner with us that night. I haven't seen him since I was little so it was nice to see him after such a long time.
Friday morning we spent some time at the pool before Mark, Peyton and my dad went to the Giants game in Glendale.
Presley ready to hit the pool.
Peyton loves the water!
Presley had no fear, she would jump right to Mark with no hesitation.
Me and my baby girl lounging poolside =)
The guys all ready for the game. Peyton made it six innings before getting antsy, much better than two years ago when we were here. The game was at the Cubs stadium but Peyton still insisted on a souveneir so he came back with a Cubs car. My mom, Presley and I walked to the mall for a little shopping while the boys were at the game.
When the guys got home we headed to Rawhide, which is a replica of an old western town. Mark used to go there when he would come to spring training as a kid.
Family shot before we leftMy babies =)
Peyton the cowboy
This place served a TON of food! Look at my burger.
Presley didn't mind, she has quite the appetite.
They had a live country band so Peyton was all about dancing!
Presley gave it a try too.
The boys having fun with a shooting game and a train ride
Saturday morning was a little to chilly for swimming so we played a little mini golf instead.
Peyton did awesome! Next year when he's old enough we might give golf lessons a try. Then it was off to the game. Go Giants!
Peyton and Presley only made it a few innings at this game so Mark and I didn't get to watch a lot of the game. Spring training has gotten so popular in the last few years so I saw quite a few people I knew from high school at the game and I even got to meet up with my best friend Casey for some very crowded souvenir shopping.the view from our seats.
After the game we stopped for some ice cream. Yummy!
Sunday we headed home, which also turned out to be perfect timing since a huge rainstorm started in Scottsdale that day. It was a long travel day but we made it home it one piece. Next year we'd like to stay a a few more days so we can at least have a full day at the pool to relax a little bit. This trip was lots of fun but it was pretty jam packed with activities. Can't wait to go back for 2014 spring training!
